Juan Castañeda, PhD

Scientist

Juan is a scientist at Yarrow responsible for characterizing biologics to treat autoimmune disorders.

Before joining Yarrow, Juan was a graduate student at Weill Cornell Medical College studying the biochemical and structural properties of DNA replication and repair proteins. His work produced multiple high-resolution
structures that answered 25-year-old questions in the field of molecular biology.

Prior to beginning his graduate career, Juan worked in the Department of Gastroenterology at the University of Pittsburgh as a research technician, identifying metabolic markers to better understand the onset of acute pancreatitis.

Juan received his PhD in Molecular Biology from Weill Cornell School of Medicine, in partnership with Sloan Kettering Institute, and his BS in Biology from Tufts University.
