Yao Li, PhD

Yao is a senior scientist at Yarrow responsible for the in vitro characterization of our molecules.

Before joining Yarrow, Yao was a research scientist at University of Pittsburgh and UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh studying novel therapies that stimulate heart regeneration to treat infants with congenital heart diseases.

Prior to this, Yao was a postdoctoral fellow in Vascular Medicine Institute at the University of Pittsburgh, where she studied NADPH oxidases, and their contribution to vascular aging and inflammation. Several of her studies, including one using NADPH oxidase inhibitor to rejuvenate vascular health and function in aged mice, have resulted in multiple first author publications.

Yao holds a PhD in Pharmacology from University of Vermont, and a BS in Pharmacy from Sichuan University in China.
